Muhammad Ali

In 1964, young Ali (Will Smith) relied on his superb boxing skills and perseverance to defeat Nissan Wriston and became the new boxing champion! During the Vietnam War, Ali refused to perform military service because "the Vietcong did not call me a nigger." Because of Ali's outspoken character and his refusal to give in to things he thought were wrong, Ali suffered a lot: the U.S. government tried every means to put Ali in jail; the Boxing Council deprived Ali of his boxing championship gold belt, and so on. In the 10 years of social turmoil from 1964 to 1974, Ali's perseverance and unyielding independence had a huge repercussions not only for him personally, but also for the boxing world and even for the entire society. Ali therefore became the spiritual leader of the black movement and the anti-Vietnam War movement. Finally, in 1974, with extraordinary perseverance, Ali once again challenged the boxing champion at the age of 34!
