Old Law (played by Walter Matthau) has three daughters, but he rarely meets them. Usually the daughters just call to ask about their old father. The eldest daughter Georgia (played by Diane Keaton), who is the editor-in-chief of a women's magazine, is very busy at work every day. She works hard every day in her important position; the second daughter Ivy (played by Meg Ryan) is beautiful, but also lacks communication with her father; and the third daughter is an actress. Although she is not a big hit, she still enjoys her job. The father has never taken care of his daughters and cared little about their lives, which has invisibly created a barrier between the daughters and their father.
