Clive Owen plays a writer who encounters a bottleneck in his creation and runs out of talent, while Juliette Binoche plays a painter who is also depressed. The two meet in a school. They teach writing and painting respectively, and they start a debate about who is more powerful, words or pictures. However, behind the tit-for-tat confrontation, an unusual love affair is also brewing.
