Cry in the Dark

The story takes place in Australia in 1980. Michael (played by Sam Neill) and his wife Lindy (played by Meryl Streep) are taking their three children on a family trip. One night, the couple left their youngest child, Azaria, in her infancy and went out to visit friends. Unexpectedly, an accident took away Azaria's young life. What Michael and Lindy never expected was that in addition to enduring the great grief of losing their child, they would also be accused of being the murderers behind the scenes. Subsequently, the court began a long trial on the case, and despite the lack of key evidence, Lindy was sentenced to life imprisonment. While in prison, Lindy gave birth to her fourth child, who was placed in Michael's care. During the long years in prison, Lindy continued to appeal, and finally earned his innocence and freedom.
