The Last Dictatorship

In the 1970s, the young Scottish doctor Nicholas Goricken (James McAvoy played by James McAvoy) came to impoverished Uganda with great ambitions and the great ideal of saving lives and healing the poor people. Here he met the beautiful Sarah (Gillian Anderson), a white colleague from the medical association, and was deeply attracted to her. At a certain rally, Nicholas was able to meet Ugandan President Andy Amin (Forest Whitaker). Nicholas was fascinated by Amin's remarks and even worshiped him fanatically. After the rally, he saves Amin, who was injured in an accident, and is appreciated for his Scottishness. Later, he got closer to the brutal monarch as the president's doctor... The film was adapted from Giles Foden's novel of the same name, for which actor Forest Whitaker won the Best Actor Award at the 79th Academy Awards.
