Mother and Son 1997

In a remote mountain village in Russia, it is sparsely populated and very quiet. The scenery here is like a rhythmic oil painting, so beautiful that it is sad and breathtaking. An old mother (played by Gudrun Geyer) is coming to the end of her life. Time has no meaning and every moment will become eternity. The son (Aleksei Ananishnov) stays with his mother and takes good care of her daily life. He patiently listened to his mother's narration about the dream, took her out for a walk, and read postcards to her. In the autumn breeze, the mother and son quietly enjoyed this last gathering... The film won the Andrei Tarkovsky Award, the Russian Film Critics Award and the Special Jury Prize at the 1997 Moscow International Film Festival.
