A Tale of Two Cities

The film is adapted from the 2009 Chitan Bhagat novel of the same name, telling the story of a Punjabi boy Chris and a Tamil Brahmin girl Ananya from falling in love to bumpy marriage. When a shrewd man meets a smart woman, is it a combination of two swords or an open and covert fight? When an overbearing and unreasonable mother-in-law meets a self-righteous mother, is it life or death? When love meets the future, marriage meets gangs, when they have to face separation, betrayal, use, cultural differences, abnormal families, hysterical relatives and friends, and intrigues... The inspiration for the work comes from the real experiences of the author and his wife: two young people from different classes and cultural backgrounds in India, deeply in love and ready to get married. Of course, their parents disagree. In order to transform their love into marriage, they need to fight an uphill battle in front of their elders. Rebellion and struggle are simple and easy, but success is difficult. Can they do it? Did they overcome numerous obstacles, or did they give up halfway out of necessity? In recent years, Chetan Bhagat's works have been continuously adapted into movies and put on the screen, such as "Hotline", "Three Idiots", "Disconnected Life", etc.
