Magical realism film. 10-year-old Staszek (played by Tomas Kreschak) recorded something about his classmate Joseph in his diary. Joseph comes from a family of blacksmiths in the beautiful countryside of the Popielawach region. The eldest son in each generation is named Joseph. Since he is the eldest son of the sixth generation, he has the nickname "Szustek" (played by Michał Yasinsky), which means the sixth. Shustek had been interested in a movie projector and its mechanical principles inherited from his ancestors since he was a child. One night, the cabin where the projection equipment was placed was set on fire by a homeless disabled musician Kulawik (Mariusz Sanitelnik) who was drunk. After being beaten up by the furious Shustek and his father Józef V (played by Krzysztof Mekhzak), Kulawik quietly told Józef V that he often made appointments with Józef V's wife Chanutka V (Grzyna Bwenczka-Korska) to have an affair in this house.
