L.A. Confidential

This film is adapted from the novel by James Ellroy and describes the corrupt police and crime-ridden Los Angeles in the 1950s. Jack Vinson (played by Kevin Spacey) is a celebrity in the police circle. He often appears in the TV media. He works in cahoots with the gossip reporter of "Hush News" and earns extra money by creating and exposing sexy news about celebrities. Ed Eisley (played by Guy Pearce) inherited his father's career and entered the police station. He is ambitious and rigorous. He was promoted because he betrayed his colleagues and was ostracized by everyone; Bud White (played by Russell Crowe) is selfless, but has an impulsive personality and is easily exploited by others. A murder at a restaurant that appeared to be a robbery linked the three men. Ed Eisley found three black suspects and was sentenced to death to close the case, for which he received a commendation from his superiors. However, during further investigation, he discovered that the case was not that simple. He persuaded Jack Vinson to continue the investigation with him; Bud White had always been suspicious of the restaurant murder, and the clues he found also showed that the case was not as simple as imagined.
