Floating Clouds

During World War II, Sachiko Koda (played by Hideko Takamine) was sent to Japan-occupied Vietnam, where she met and fell in love with a married man Tomioka Kanego (played by Masayuki Mori). After returning from the war, Sachiko found Tomioka's home in the decaying streets and found that he was still living with his wife (Chieko Nakakita) and had not divorced. After they came out, they met secretly and continued to communicate secretly, but Tomioka's attitude was still ambiguous and he made many excuses. After leaving Tomioka, the desperate Sachiko lived with a foreigner. Later, Kengo retrieved Sachiko, and Sachiko was with him again. However, at Ikaho Hot Spring, Tomioka fell in love with the innkeeper's wife (played by Okada Moriko), and Sachiko found out that she was pregnant. Afterwards, an accident occurred in Tomioka, and he came back to find Sachiko. The two planned to start a new life...
