Coast

Selected in the Panorama section of the Berlin Film Festival. The boy Martin took the place of his father and went to a coastal town in southern Brazil to deal with debts. His long-time friend Tomaz was obligated to accompany him, but this journey also caused subtle changes in the friendship between the two. Desire, like the constant sound of the ocean outside the house, gradually takes over their hearts. As Martin reveals family secrets, he also has the courage to face his own feelings, and the relationship between him and Tomaz becomes even more turbulent. This feature film from a new Brazilian director, step by step, gets closer to the true inner nature of the protagonist, and the portrayal is moving and profound.
