Sea View Room

Farmer Thomas Alonso is a somewhat autistic farmer. He will only play his beloved violin at night. On a rainy day in 1948, in the highlands of Venezuela, Thomas buried his wife with his 12-year-old son, Santiago. Returning home, he found the only photo of his wife, taken on a beautiful coast when she was young. While Santiago looked at his mother's photos, he asked his father to tell him the story of the sea. Thomas, who had never left the plateau, had to describe the perfect sea in his imagination to his son. From then on, the father and son began to build their dream paradise on earth in their own way and imagination. At the same time, another clue in the film also unfolded. A photographer who specialized in taking portraits came to the plateau. Drunk, he accidentally walked to Thomas and Santiago's small house, and Thomas helped him find the truck. When the photographer opened his old curtain, Santiago discovered this familiar seascape. In order to thank them, the photographer promised them to come back and take pictures of them in front of the sea curtain. The film ends with Santiago making a joke about his father in front of everyone. Thomas finally stopped being autistic and happily accepted his son's teasing. The father and son gradually became cheerful and happy.
