The Foreign Hotel

Seven old British people who have reached their twilight years traveled to Jaipur, India for vacation. Among the seven, the considerate Evelyn (Judi Dench) is trying to live independently after losing her husband; Justice Graham (Tom Wilkinson) who suffers from heart disease carries an unspeakable secret; Douglas (Bill Nighy) and Joan hope to improve the rigid relationship between husband and wife; the old naughty Norman and the old pretty Maggie are always looking forward to an affair; as for Murrell (Maggie Smith) ), she always seemed a bit cold and mean while waiting for surgery. The seven people with their own thoughts were attracted by the exotic advertisement and stayed at the Marigold Hotel together. But the real hotel was not as comfortable as advertised, and this spiritual journey to India was not as satisfying as expected. In a strange country, everyone started to think new about the rest of their lives. They did not want to live with regrets for the rest of their lives and worked hard towards a happy ending. The film is adapted from the novel "These Foolish Things" by British female writer Deborah Moggach.
