The Man Who Burned the Sea

Hammett wanders between a neighborhood in Istanbul and a border town. He worked for Ali, hauling away charcoal and bringing in illegal immigrants. In this desolate town, Hammett feels depressed and trapped, controlled by Ali. He shares a dilapidated room with his helper Muhammad, but this is not the life Hammett imagined. He tried to escape but to no avail. The only person who comforted him was Denise, a botanist who worked at a local research center.
