This film tells the story of a southern European country (alluding to Greece) where the military regime created a dictatorship. Mr. Z, the leader of the opposition party who opposed the government, was assassinated during a speech. The government authorities announced that he died in an accidental car accident. People who could not believe this reason strongly demanded to find out the truth. The prosecutor, who got various signs from Mr. Z's colleagues, decided to resist political pressure and pursue the matter to the end. Finally, he discovered that this was a planned political murder and involved many political figures. However, those involved in the murder were later either exiled, sentenced to prison or killed. Gaspar became famous in one fell swoop with this film, and started a new storm of political shady films.
