Life is like a fatal disease

Thomas is a doctor in his sixties and has no religious beliefs. He had always suspected that he was seriously ill. So he began to think about the meaning of life and death. The answer - or the sign - unexpectedly begins in the hospital intensive care unit... The film's title is inspired by the graffiti on the walls of Warsaw. Life is a tragic contradiction, itself a journey to death. Another version of the same story in Zanussi's "Love on the Other Side of the Mountain", the focus of the plot shifts to an old doctor who accidentally discovers that he is terminally ill. Through the struggle of the protagonist, this "dying movie" that explores life, death, love and redemption calmly and powerfully expresses Zanussi's reflections on philosophy and ethics. Zbigniew Zapasiewicz, a veteran actor who has participated in many Zanussi films, performed admirably. The young male protagonist of "Love on the Other Side of the Mountain" is struggling to decide whether to become a monk serving God or return to medical school to continue his unfinished studies. He tries every means to find answers and even tests himself in dangerous ways. The result not only worries his dependent brother, but also affects the relationship between him and his girlfriend. He raised his doubts to an old doctor he met by chance. Unexpectedly, this old man who was approaching the end of his life deliberately decided to do something at the last moment.
