Comrade Lover

Liu Jizu (played by Andy Lau) is a reporter who went to Vietnam from Hong Kong on business. There, he met a translator named Ruan Hong (played by Zhong Chuhong). By chance, Liu Jizu got into a car accident and was arrested and imprisoned. Fortunately, he got help from Ruan Hong to avoid jail, and the two became friends. One day, Liu Jizu walked into a demonstration by accident. He was mistaken for the leader of the student movement and was arrested by the local army and sentenced to three years in prison. Also imprisoned together with Liu Jizu was Ruan Hong's younger brother. In order to save their younger brother, Ruan Hong and Liu Jizu collaborated and planned a prison break. Unexpectedly, Ruan Hong's younger brother died in the process. After going through many hardships and dangers, Liu Jizu and his party finally reached a safe zone.
