Sweet Country

"Sweet Country" takes place in the outback of Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia, in 1929. The owner of Sam, an experienced aboriginal cattleman, is Harry, a white veteran who returned from World War I. Harry was violent and abused workers, and was eventually shot to death by Sam in self-defense. Since then, Sam and his pregnant wife have embarked on an escape journey, traveling across the outback and across majestic deserts, using their jungle survival skills to skillfully avoid the pursuing law enforcement officers. But for the sake of his wife's health, Sam finally surrendered for interrogation. In a society of white supremacy, can the so-called trial demonstrate justice?
