The Doctor

The film is set in Persia in the 11th century. In order to learn medical skills to cover up his Catholic body, an Englishman joined a medical school in Ispahan that only admitted Jews. The teacher he followed was named Avicenna, a famous Jewish scientist, thinker and doctor in history. Avicenna wrote more than 200 works, the most famous of which is "Encyclopedia of Philosophy and Science", which was a high-level encyclopedia at the time; another masterpiece is "Classification of Medicine", which was regarded as a medical classic in Western countries until the 17th century and is still of reference value today. "The Doctor" combines epic and fiction to show the fearless spirit of a group of people exploring true knowledge in a century dominated by ignorance and superstition.
