Leonora's Farewell

When Pirandello died, he left clear instructions: no funeral for himself. But there are three funerals in the film. The film follows the surreal journey of Pirandello's ashes from Rome to Agrigento. The journey contained various wonderful coincidences: the plane did not take off due to ancient superstition; the train slowly drove south... Finally, Pirandello's ashes were scattered into the Sicilian Sea, forming the shape of a nail. "Nail", Pirandello's last work, was inspired by a murder in Brooklyn and the character Bastien Dedu in "Chaos".
