Blue Youth

Asahi High School, a boys' high school, is a school where bad boys gather. These boys who are in the midst of restless adolescence seem to be unable to see the future direction. They conquer their opponents with their fists and march towards the top to prove the meaning of their existence. However, the students here have invented a new way to determine the leader: Challengers who think they are capable line up and stand outside the railing of the rooftop terrace. Following the order, they release their hands holding the railing and high-five with both hands. The one who claps the most without falling down the stairs can be called the boss of Asahi High School. After a thrilling competition, third-year freshman Kujo (played by Ryuhei Matsuda) successfully won the championship with 8 consecutive hits. At the beginning of the new semester, Kujo, Aoki (Hirofumi Arai), Yukio (Takaoka Sosuke), Kimura (Yusuke Oshiba), Yoshimura (Shugo Shinsei) and other third-year students began to experience a cruel transformation from ideal to reality. They were voluntarily or forced to choose the way forward, and paid a bloody price for the cruel youth... This film is adapted from the original short story of the same name by cartoonist Taiyo Matsumoto.
