Tsuguharu Fujita

In Paris in the 1920s, the Japanese artist Tsuguharu Foujita was loved by the city. His unique interpretation of nude women impressed the entire Montparnasse art circle. He had close personal relationships with art masters such as Van Dongen, Chisling, Picasso, and Mondigliani. His life can be described as colorful. During World War II, he returned to his native Japan. His life and beliefs were shattered by the war. He and his wife lived in seclusion in Aomori, a small town in northern Japan, hiding from the war in the countryside. He also discovered a Japan that he had never known.
