Reborn

Dieter Dangler (played by Christian Bale), who was born in Germany, has dreamed of flying a plane and soaring into the sky since he was a child. When he grew up, he immigrated to the United States with his family, joined the army and became a real pilot. Dieter then joined the Navy and joined the Vietnam battlefield. On the way to the mission, the Dieter plane was unfortunately shot down by ground artillery fire from the Vietnamese army. He narrowly escaped death, but was eventually captured by the enemy and tortured. Dieter was taken to a prisoner of war camp in Laos, where he also had several fellow American soldiers. The enemy guarding them gave them inhuman treatment. Dieter secretly made up his mind to escape before he could sit down.
