The Fort Eight

Story summary: During World War II, eight American soldiers inadvertently came to a castle while looking for a safe haven. This castle called Madore in Belgium has a history of hundreds of years and an extremely rich art collection. The owner of the castle, the Count, allowed American soldiers to live here, but he did not want their arrival to bring bad luck to the castle. Colonel Falconer believed that the German army would soon arrive here, and he must lead his men to fight the German army instead of continuing to flee. Captain Baker (Music), who was an art connoisseur before joining the army, had the same attitude as the Earl: the castle and the works of art inside could not be destroyed by the war.
