Meridian of Fog

Paper sculpture artist Sawada Yae (played by Sayuri Yoshinaga) and Hakodate Daily reporter Hiyoko Torikai (played by Iwashita Shima) have been very close friends since college. They once participated in a famous security movement and fell in love with the same man (played by Hayashi Ryuzo). After graduation, the two lived separately in Tokyo and Hakodate, working hard for their own lives. One day, Yae was diagnosed with a serious illness. After the second operation, she moved to Hakodate, where the good sisters who had been separated for more than 20 years met again. Previously, Kiyoko had maintained a lover's relationship with her newspaper colleague Takao Kosuke (played by Tamaki Koji), but Yae's virtuousness and tranquility deeply attracted Takao. He could not suppress the surging love in his heart, but this caused the two friends to fall into a swaying contradiction... This film is adapted from the original work of the same name by the Japanese writer Takaki Noko.
