Milan's car factory workshop director Neo (Alberto Sordi ) is going to use his half-month vacation to go back to his hometown in Sicily for vacation. Before leaving, his boss asks him to bring a gift to Vincenzo, the mafia leader in Sicily. Neo was inexplicably excited after he and his wife Marta set foot on their hometown. He introduced his huge family to his wife. Some of his old friends were shot to death, some were in prison, and a handful of them became the walking dead in the eyes of the villagers because they betrayed their friends. The remaining acquaintances were slightly wary of Neo's "Milan flavor". Neo met with Vincenzo and was recognized by the old gangster. In the war-torn years, Neo was Vincenzo's right-hand man.
