Renegade: Latent Criminals

Continuing the ending of the TV series "Sniper", Liang Xiaotang Laughing (played by Nicholas Tse) was found guilty of murdering Su Xingbai (played by Huang Zongze) and sentenced to life imprisonment; Liang Xiaotang met university professor Huo Tianren (played by Wu Zhenyu) in prison. The professor appeared to be gentle and aloof, but he was able to subdue the vicious "Juchuan" (played by Lin Xue) with a psychological trap. In fact, the professor is a highly intelligent criminal psychologist who is good at using cold reading to gain insight into other people's psychological activities and secrets, and to control others silently. A mysterious woman (played by Janice Man) visits Liang Xiaotang in prison. She belongs to the Security Bureau, which is a higher level than the police force. It turns out that Liang Xiaotang was imprisoned for another undercover role. On that day, another person was responsible for killing Su Xingbai. The deputy director of the Security Bureau (Mai Changqing) suspected that the whole incident was related to a criminal gang hiding in the police force, so he took advantage of the situation and ordered Liang Xiaotang to be imprisoned to investigate. Liang Xiaotang followed suit and took the initiative to contact the target person in prison, the former sergeant of the Narcotics Investigation Bureau "Da Chi" (played by To Man Chak). When he was about to make progress, he discovered that the professor also used psychological treatment to make "Da Chi" insane many times, until he gave "Da Chi" death hints. A life-and-death showdown between friend and foe, justice and evil, unfolds in an extremely uneven situation.
