The Admiral

The story takes place in the Netherlands in the mid-seventeenth century. Druitt (Frank Lammers) succeeded Maarten (Rutger Hauer) as the new admiral. He proved his wisdom and strength with successive victories, and won the trust and respect of his subordinates. Republican official John (Barry Atsma) and Orange party Prince William III (Egbert Jan Weeber) are engaged in a smokeless contest to earn power. At the same time, the war between the Netherlands and Britain was in full swing. Leading his own fleet, Druitt successfully repelled the enemy and became a nationally renowned hero. However, his fame also forced him to be involved in the royal family's power disputes, which even threatened the lives of him and his family.
