Life and Death

During the Gulf War, tank officer Sarin (Denzel Washington) made a mistake in judgment and ordered the destruction of his own tank, causing the accidental death of his friend Baldwin. Although the military court ruled that he did not need to bear responsibility, he still suffered from conscience day and night. He always wanted to explain the matter to Baldwin's parents, but he never had the courage. In order to award Shalin a medal, his boss sent him to investigate an incident in which a mechanic sacrificed his life to save a soldier during the war. During the Sarin investigation, it was discovered that Karen (Meg Ryan), who died heroically to save the soldiers, turned out to be a woman! However, the confessions of several soldiers at the scene were contradictory and full of loopholes. After Sarin questioned one of the soldiers, Murphy, he committed suicide.
