48 Hours

Jack Case is a senior police detective in San Francisco who has failed to perform since he joined the police at the age of 21. Reggie Hammond was a habitual criminal in the black area who had committed numerous crimes since he was 15 years old. Coincidentally, both of them wanted to change the current situation, and what was even more coincidental was that they met unexpectedly at the same time, which triggered a fight. The felon Albert Ganz successfully escaped from prison with the help of his old partner Billy Byer. They immediately killed his accomplice Henry Wang and checked into the Walden Hotel in San Francisco under false names. The young detective Jack Gates (Nick Nolte) is depressed and addicted to alcoholism. This time, he was ordered to stay at the Walden Hotel with his colleagues VanZant and Algren to investigate a person named G. P. Polson, not wanting VanZant and Algren to be killed by Albert. Jack wants to avenge his colleagues and persuades his boss Haden to let him handle the case independently. Jack visits Albert's former partner Reggie Hammond (Eddie Murphy) in prison. On the grounds of reducing his sentence, he hopes that Reggie will help him capture Albert and Billy. Reggie reluctantly agrees, but Jack can only take him out of prison for 48 hours. To make matters worse, the two have a dispute and fight in the landfill.
