Dean, Duncan and DJ Beatroot are three teenage friends from Glasgow who embark on a character-building camping trip together - called the Duke of Edinburgh Award - based on real life, where foraging, teamwork and orienteering are the order of the day. Eager to let loose and smoke weed in the Scottish Highlands, the three of them find themselves paired up with the straight-faced Ian who is determined to play by the rules. After veering off the main road into remote farmland far from the comfort zone of the city, the boys find themselves hunted by a shadowy force bent on destroying their futures. The debut feature from writer-director Ninian Dolph, who has previously produced a string of award-winning music videos and short films for artists such as Dealing with Jewelry, Miike Snow, Migos, and Mickey Blanco, is an anarchic film that pits the youth of tomorrow against the status quo of yesterday with a cocktail of generational politics, hip-hop-loving farmers, and psychedelic rabbit poop. "Gate Du Ke" stars Eddie Izzard, Kate Dickey, George Glenn, James Cosmo and a selection of emerging young actors Samuel Bottomley, Vera Junia, Rian Gordon and Lewis Gribben.
