我们的故事讲述了一个有些特殊的家庭里发生的故事。飒爽美丽的曲多多（海清 饰）是某剧团青年演员，三年前她为了爱情和少刚结婚，谁知婚后没多久丈夫便出国留学，她住在丈夫家，公公老段（许忠全 饰）是她唯一的想出伙伴。老段是剧团的退休灯光师，工作和家庭的关系，让这两个年龄相差悬殊的人既像家人又像朋友。曾经追求多多的仇虎（赵毅 饰）“贼心不死”，甘愿给段家当免费长工，而坚守爱情的多多则意外发现曾经的笃定也因丈夫的外遇没有了意义。离婚事实摆在眼前，这对没有血缘关系的父女将面临痛苦的选择。为了给老段筹钱买新房子，多多拜托仇虎帮她多接演出差事，谁知将面临新的情感波澜。 忠厚的老段舐犊情深，心疼不已地看着疼爱的女儿在充满磨难的天地里再度振翅高飞……
