阿梅饰演当红新扎女歌手方敖儿Jannie，离开了一手捧红她的经理人占士，改签另一间规模更大的唱片公司，令占士相当气愤。但她并没忘本。 占士要捧红新人罗素与她对敌。当占士的公司出现问题时，她拔刀相助。最后两人冰释前嫌，更结成一对。阿梅在戏中有不少歌舞表演，开场不久便演绎了一首《别离的无奈》，片末又与罗素同台演出，唱了原与李中浩合唱的《迈向新一天》。 这套电影水平一般，最可观的是戏中阿梅的舞台表演。电影开首阿梅演绎《别离的无奈》，一脸冷傲，很有型！印象中没有看过阿梅在台上唱这首歌，这段戏虽不是现场演唱，但也很珍贵。片尾《迈向新一天》里阿梅与罗素载歌载舞，阿梅的舞姿很美。
