Gang Leader [Film and TV Commentary]

A nonsensical comedy movie based on classic underworld films such as "The Godfather". It depicts the old godfather Vincenzo who does not play by the rules. Due to his advanced age and the reorganization of the underworld forces, he is facing the pressure of choosing a successor. Among the three sons, should he choose the fiery Qiao Yi or the battlefield? Taking over the mantle of Anthony, Jim Abrahams, who is good at making such films, this time abandoned his old partner Lesley Nielsen and used the slimmer veteran actor Lloyd to play the godfather. The casting was appropriate and he was able to express his usual gag techniques in the dialogue and exert a satirical effect. But overall, it fails to break away from the clichés of the same series of films, and some of the jokes are in poor taste.
