The Story of Bill Hicks

Bill Hicks is a well-known American comedy star. The documentary includes real video clips and thousands of photos of Bill Hicks, recording Hicks' childhood life in his hometown in Houston, his experience in the United Kingdom after becoming famous, and his journey to becoming an American comedy master. Unlike other documentaries that commemorate the deceased, this film does not set an overly heavy tone. Instead, it intersperses many Bill Hicks cartoons and animation clips, which adds a lot of humor to the film and is more in line with Bill Hicks' identity as a "comedy master." The film was co-produced by British directors Matt Hallock and Paul Thomas and took three years to shoot. It won the Texas Documentary Award at the Dallas International Film Festival in the United States.
