Far Away

In a port town with fallen autumn leaves, a lonely penguin wanders on the empty streets. Hungry, helpless, and aimless, it came to the home of a little boy. The penguin seemed to be interested in the boy's radio, but the boy was at a loss and had to send it to the lost and found office, but no one ever lost a penguin. The little penguin becomes a burden to the boy. After many twists and turns, the boy learns that penguins all grow in Antarctica. So, he made a small wooden boat and embarked on a journey home to Antarctica with the little penguin... The film was adapted by the famous British animation studio AKA based on the original work of the same name by the famous picture book writer Oliver Jeffer. It was produced and broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK at Christmas. The film won the 2009 British Academy of Film and Television Arts Children's Award for Best Film and the 2009 Chicago International Children's Film Festival Children's Jury Award for Best Animated Film.
