The String Moves My Heart (Plot Commentary)

The sudden departure of her husband plunged Roberta (played by Meryl Streep) into deep pain. Like most housewives, Roberta's entire world consisted of her husband and family. Now that both of these things have collapsed and fragmented, how should Roberta, who is already quite old, deal with herself? It was sad, but life still had to go on. With her two children, Roberta moved her family to East Harlem, New York, where she revived and started a new life as a violin teacher. Roberta firmly believes that art can cultivate people's sentiments. Even children who have never been influenced by art will definitely resonate with the beautiful sound of the violin. However, the leaders of the school where Roberta taught did not think so. They continued to reduce Roberta's education funds, but this did not shake Roberta's determination.
