Fog of Crisis

During the Anti-Japanese War in Songhu in 1932, the Japanese under the pseudonym Tao Lan planned to destroy the underground party group of the Communist Party of China and purge the Shanghai gang guilds that assisted in the anti-Japanese war. Shen Fang, an underground party member lurking in the platoon meeting, narrowly escaped death and contacted the Beacon Team of the new party organization to investigate the truth about the attacks on the former party group and the platoon meeting. Later, due to the need of the struggle, he left the platoon meeting and joined the enemy. He was misunderstood by his wife Hong Jin'er, who pursued progress, and the platoon meeting split. In 1936, Tao Lan sneaked back to Shanghai, pretending to be an underground party member, and colluded with Yuan Jie, his minion who was stationed in the Kuomintang secret service. He enlisted the platoon to frame Shen Fang, confuse the Beacon Team, and implement the Canglong Plan, which was designed to undermine the anti-Japanese resistance and intensify the contradiction between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party. Shen Fang cooperated with Feng Huo to confuse the anti-communist forces of the Kuomintang, actively guide Hong Jin'er, win over the platoon leader Chang Shu, and the Kuomintang cadres Zhou Fan and Chen Baiyu who advocated resistance to Japan. They uncovered and smashed the Canglong plan, completely liquidated with Tao Lan Yuanjie, paid huge sacrifices, won the victory, united the anti-Japanese forces, and plunged into the torrent of the entire nation's anti-Japanese war.
