Bicycle Thief

After World War II, Rome, like many cities, was plagued by unemployment and poverty, and people often fought for a job opportunity. Ricci (Lamberto Maggiorani), who has been unemployed for a long time, worked hard to get a job as a poster poster, but he was worried that the job required a bicycle. In order to live a better life in the future, he used his wife's dowry - bed sheets to exchange for his pawned bicycle. Unexpectedly, his bicycle was stolen on the first day of work. Ricci and his son Bruno (Enzo Staiola) searched the streets of Rome, but could not find the bicycle that he depended on for survival. Seeing that hopeless days were coming again, Ricci decided to retaliate in kind, but his luck was not as good as other thieves.
