The innocent and lovely Elizabeth (played by Anna Friel) married into the aristocracy at an early age and shoulders the important task of revitalizing her family. As the war continues, there is no peace on the land of Hungary, and Elizabeth's husband, Ferenc Nardasi (Vincent Regan), becomes increasingly powerful during the war. While Franz was away at war for many years, Elizabeth experienced loneliness and boredom. She indulged in black magic, illicit love, and lace, and became the perverted vampire countess that people talked about. The truth has long been confusing in the long history, and no one knows the real Elizabeth... This film is adapted from the story of Elizabeth Bathory, the notorious "vampire countess" in medieval Hungary, and won the 2009 Czech Golden Lion Award for Best Art Direction.
