In 1952, the Cuban dictator Batista came to power. The government he led implemented high-pressure rule at home and promoted pro-American policies abroad. Che Guevara (Benicio Del Toro) met Fidel Castro (Rodrigo Santoro) in Mexico City in 1955, and later joined the "July 26 Movement" organized by Castro. The following year, Guevara and 81 other insurgents embarked on a journey to overthrow the Batista dictatorship... In order to reproduce the life of revolutionary Che Guevara in detail and truly, the famous American Hollywood director Steven Soderbergh spent 4 hours portraying this legendary hero. In the end, according to the needs of theaters, the film was divided into two parts for release. The film won the Best Actor Award at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the Palme d'Or.
