The Lost Woman

Early one morning a dead female body appeared in a trench in a village. Under police investigation, the wandering years of the deceased Mona (Sandrine Bonnaire) were revealed. She carried a big bag and camped around, living in a house with a down-and-out homeless man, smoking and sleeping together. Yolande, an old woman's maid, was envious of Mona and the tramp's comfortable state, and was dissatisfied with her boyfriend Paul's simple and rude behavior. One night, Paul broke into a house and knocked the homeless man unconscious, and Mona left without saying goodbye. Next she met a herding couple, who gave her land and a place to live, hoping that she would work hard to live a peaceful and practical life.
