The Village of Short Point

The debut novel of Agnès Varda, the grandmother of the New Wave, The Village of Short Point is also where Varda grew up. The film mainly consists of two parts: a young man, Louis (played by Philippe Noiret), returns to his hometown of Cap Village, a small fishing port village located in the Sète region of France. His wife Ella (Silvia Monfort), who has lived with him for four years, also came here subsequently. Louis has strong feelings for Short Point, but Ella is unfamiliar with it. No matter how hard they try, the sense of estrangement still puts their originally dull relationship into further crisis. The couple discussed their feelings about love and life during their stay in Short Cape...
