Munakata Sisters

Setsuko (played by Tanaka Kinuyo) and Mitsuko (played by Takamine Hideko) are sisters who love each other and live a life of dependence on their father. Although their personalities are very different, the relationship between the two sisters has always been very good. Decades passed in a blink of an eye, and both Setsuko and Manliko became graceful ladies. Later, Setsuko married a man named Mimura. However, the economic depression caused Mimura to lose his job. He had nothing to do at home all day long and could only drink to relieve his sorrow. The burden of the entire family falls on Setsuko's shoulders. One day, Setsuko's first love returned from studying abroad and got in touch with Setsuko. The boredom and dissatisfaction of married life made Setsuko a little distraught. Knowing Setsuko's thoughts, Manliko, who had always been unrestrained and trendy, encouraged her sister to leave Mimura and find her own happiness. But just when Setsuko made up her mind, news of Mimura's death came.
