Night of the Clowns

Albert (Åke Grönberg)'s entire fortune and life were bet on the circus he worked so hard to run. Although the business was increasingly bleak, he did not have the idea of ​​giving up. He decided to use a grand performance to boost the morale of the group. With his lover Anne (Harriet Andersson), Albert came to a man named Schuberg (Gunnar Björnstrand), hoping to borrow some costumes for the performance. Albert went to visit his long-lost wife Agueda (Annika Tretow) and children, and expressed his desire to stay at home and spend his old age. Unexpectedly, he was rejected. Soon after, Albert discovered the affair between Anne and his colleague France (Hasse Ekman). Fortunately, the circus performance was a success, and even though life was cruel, the days still passed by slowly day by day.
