My Secret Flower

The female writer Leo (played by Marisa Paredes) has been writing romance novels under the pen name of Amanda for more than 20 years. However, her recent writing has encountered a bottleneck. Her husband, who serves in the army, has been abroad for a long time, making Leo nervous about her marriage and unable to concentrate on writing. Even a pair of boots can trouble her. Under the introduction of his friend Betty, Leo met editor Angel (Juan Echanove). Although Leo rejected the other person's job, Angel's acumen still left an impression on her. At the same time, the publishing house was quite dissatisfied with Leo's current situation and demanded that she get back on track or else her secret true identity would be revealed. The husband finally came home but left in a hurry and said that the marriage had broken down. The heartbroken Leo took medicine and committed suicide. Fortunately, he was brought back to the world by a phone call from his mother. Angel enters Leo's life when he is helpless and offers to share Amanda's secret with him. When his friend Betty admitted her affair with her husband, Leo had no intention of pursuing the matter and went back to the countryside with his mother to rest. He finally got out of the haze under the influence of the people around him. The film won many professional awards including Best Actress at the 1996 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
