Over the years, Jessica has sacrificed herself for her family. She gave up her music dream for her parents and younger brother; now, for her younger brother's dream, she gave up the opportunity to go to Los Angeles to meet her old friends. By chance, she went to the Grace Church for her father to repair the water pipes, and couldn't help but play the piano. Pastor Chambers was attracted by her music and told her that the church was facing a crisis and that it would hold a centenary celebration to save the "life" of the church and prepare for the choir competition, but the choir director left and hoped that she could come to guide the singing. She agreed to guide the choir without any reward, but was met with Gloria's suspicion.
