Under the clear blue sky and in the middle of the day, middle-aged man Neil and his family enjoy a luxurious and leisurely vacation at a resort in Mexico. Drinking by the pool during the day, flirting with the musicians at dinner, everything is very pleasant, until the ringing of the mobile phone pierces the air. The mother on the other end of the phone was in critical condition, so everyone had to pack their luggage and get on the next plane back home. Unexpectedly, Neil couldn't find his passport at the boarding gate and had to part ways with his family. After walking out of the airport, Neil took a taxi, but it was not heading back to the hotel, but to a shabby hotel in the city... Following "Beautiful New Order," which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival, director Michel Franco once again used the chaotic law and order situation of his hometown's disparity between rich and poor as the backdrop to present a seemingly lighthearted but undercurrent family drama, entering the official competition of the Venice Film Festival for the second time. Tim Roth is cold and distant, full of upper-class affluence; Charlotte Gainsbourg is restless, tense and anxious from time to time. The strong contrast between the mood swings arouses more curiosity in the audience. The plot is twists and turns, clues are scattered, and the protagonist’s true motivations have yet to be pieced together. The tide ebbs and the tide rises, the sun rises and sets, the turning point of life changes dramatically in an instant.
