The Heroes of the Battlefield

Colonel Hess of the U.S. Air Force turned out to be a pastor in Ohio. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. During a mission to bomb Nazi Germany, he accidentally bombed an orphanage, killing 37 German orphans. After the war, he felt guilty and could not go back to continue preaching, so he rejoined the U.S. Air Force and came to the Korean battlefield to train the first batch of fighter pilots for the South Korean Air Force. Under his training, the South Korean Air Force successfully completed a series of combat missions. There is a Korean woman taking care of a dozen Korean War orphans near the air base. During the war, Colonel Hess tried his best to protect and care for these orphans. Later, he raised money to build an orphanage to give Korean War orphans a home, which calmed his conscience.
