Born as a Young Son

The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by the Naoki Award-winning writer Kiyoshi Shigematsu, and is directed by Yukiko Mishima, the director of "Glass Reed". The story tells the story of Nobu (played by Tadanobu Asano), a divorced man with a child, living an ordinary and happy life with his second wife Nanae (played by Tanaka Reina) and her two previous daughters. When Nanae became pregnant, Nanae's eldest daughter revealed that she wanted to see her biological father Sawada (played by Kankuro Miyafuji). However, it was this biological father who had been violent to Nanae and led to their divorce. Both Nanae and Nobu were extremely opposed to it. The eldest daughter tried her best to resist, which made Nobu feel frustrated and even had a sense of denial about Nanae's unborn child.
